Flick Calls Up Mix of Youth and Experience for FIFA World Cup
Hansi Flick has announced his squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. As the new coach of Germany, Flick was tasked with the duty of selecting the players who will represent their nation in the upcoming tournament. Flick has opted for a mix of youth and experience, with some notable names making their first appearances at a major international tournament. Manuel Neuer has been selected as captain, while other experienced players such as Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich, and Ilkay Gündogan have also been included. Flick has also included some younger players, such as Jamal Musiala, Karim Adeyemi, and Nico Schlotterbeck. These players have been impressing at club level and will be looking to make a name for themselves at the World Cup.
Germany will be looking to improve on their performance at the 2018 World Cup, where they were knocked out in the group stage. His first home game follows against Armenia on 5th September 2021 before a trip to Iceland on 8th September 2021.
